Julie recorded 12 songs
in Texas this past June and will release singles in advance of the full album which is slated for release in fall 2023.
Julie calls the album “a bundle of songs written over the past 10 years, a diary of sorts, songs that were written during a time of challenge or soul searching.” The song, “It's Not The End”, is dedicated to Julie's older brother who tragically took his own life this past summer after suffering from debilitating depression and experiencing homelessness due to his challenges with mental health. Another song, “Pray For You”, was written for Julie's younger brother who suffers from addiction which has led to him serving a lengthy prison sentence. Julie says the song is “a love song of hope and prayer to him from her, their siblings and parents, and all their loved ones. “
Other songs from the project were written during the pandemic- songs like "Under Your Wing", "I Never Left" and "This Storm Will Pass". Also included on the album are tracks written in honor of loved ones who have passed on and “the connection that we can still have with them through our love for them and theirs for us,” says the singer.
